“First, and foremost we are in the people business.”
Eric Gurr and Norma Fowler, husband and wife, will be your hosts at the Inn.
Eric, born in Germany brings his culinary expertise and a flair for entertaining people. Eric’s father and grandfather were chefs. His grandfather and an aunt were also restaurant owners... so it’s in the family.
As a teenager, he worked in his father’s restaurant. After his term in the Air Force, he worked for NASA at Cape Canaveral and then relocated to Reno, Nevada where he worked in the electronics division of the gaming industry prior to locating to North Carolina in 2010. Eric started the first Porsche club when he lived in Las Vegas in the 1970’s. He purchased a new Porsche and still maintains it today.
Norma Fowler, a native Tennesseean, is an artist who has vision and an eye for creativity. With a background in Chamber of Commerce and the arts organizations as well as owner and partner in other businesses, she is in her element as an innkeeper.
It has been their desire for several years to be able to work together. Having spent many hours working together in the kitchen, entertaining friends, doing Oktoberfests, they are ready to meet new friends.
We strive to make your stay in a warm cozy atmosphere... one that is full of “gemuetlichkeit” (cheerfulness)... and hope that you have embraced this home of the past as much as we have.
